From Israel’s North, the Next Great Center of World Cuisine

The Galilee Culinary Institute by JNF, featuring the Rosenfield School of Culinary Arts, is more than a culinary school—it’s a catalyst for transformation.

Rooted in Kibbutz Gonen in Israel’s Upper Eastern Galilee, GCI is driving a bold vision: to elevate the region into a global destination for culinary excellence, tourism, economic opportunity, and population growth.

One of Israel’s most diverse regions—home to more than 80 ethnic communities and a rich, layered food heritage—the Galilee is our classroom. Through an immersive model built on Discover. Engage. Create., students will go beyond the kitchen, exploring agriculture, food technology, hospitality management, and sustainability. This is culinary education reimagined.

GCI will also open its doors to the public with chef demonstrations, hands-on workshops, culinary tours, farm-to-table experiences, multicultural programming celebrating Druze, Muslim, Bedouin, and Jewish traditions, and a vibrant restaurant featuring an open kitchen—where guests can gather around the glow of a tandoor oven, a charcoal shawarma spit, and a wood-fire grill.

An Innovative, Inclusive Educational Program

The Galilee Culinary Institute by JNF, Rosenfield School of Culinary Arts, has taken a revolutionary approach to Culinary education. We’ve created a groundbreaking, 12-month, program designed to immerse our students in the vibrant, food culture of Northern Israel’s Galilee region.

Our novel approach creates an environment where deep friendships and professional relationships can blossom and mature. By creating an informal atmosphere, in a countrified setting, our students can engage in more unfiltered experiences that allow for deeper learning. At GCI, students will be exposed to a unique blend of both traditional and unconventional teaching styles.

Students will acquire, state-of-the-art, culinary skills and explore the major themes moving the food world today. By integrating into local businesses our learners will gain real-world knowledge, giving them a leg up as they enter the marketplace and pursue their professional goals.

A Living Classroom with a Working Farm

GCI by JNF’s three-acre farm immerses students in the farm-to-table experience. Everything from heirloom vegetables to edible flowers will be grown using sustainable techniques driven by Israeli innovation.

Beyond a living classroom, chefs at the Institute’s on-site restaurant and educational center will have access to fresh produce, creating a self-sustaining agricultural cycle.
